Vergissmeinnicht (Forget-Me-Not) is inspired by Ludovico Ariosto’s epic poem Orlando Furioso (1516). In the tale, Orlando loses his mind for love. To find his wits, one of his knights must fly to the Moon, where everything lost on Earth is collected
The site-specific installation is created to speak through its container: the Hošek Contemporary, a boat from 1900 on the Spree, Berlin, embodies the metaphor of the Moon. Thanks to the light, the gaps between the floor’s antique planks acquire value as a portal to finding something lost and forgotten. The light and sound interventions amplify the characteristics of the space, re-creating an epic story in a whisper.
